MDMA Statement on the Senate Introduction of the “Ensuring Patient Access to Critical Breakthrough Products Act”

WASHINGTON, DC – Mark Leahey, President and CEO of the Medical Device Manufacturers Association (MDMA), issued the following statement today regarding the bipartisan introduction in the Senate of the “Ensuring Patient Access to Critical Breakthrough Products Act,”which is designed toexpedite the Medicare coverage determination process of breakthrough medical technologies for patients:

“MDMA thanks Senators Todd Young (IN) and Alex Padilla (CA) for introducing the ‘Ensuring Patient Access to Critical Breakthrough Products Act.’ Similar to H.R. 1691 in the House of Representatives, their bill would help ensure that Medicare beneficiaries have timely access to the most clinically important, safe, and effective medical technologies and diagnostics.”
